Which watch would
you make yours?

A watch can earn its place on your wrist in different ways: a useful second time zone, the character of a mechanical movement, or a design that starts with your own idea.

Welcome to the October edition of THE COLLECTOR LIST. You’ll find early looks at our watches, opportunities to commission your own, stories from the bench, and brand news worth sharing.

This month, we’re featuring two watches—and an invitation to tell us which you’d wear and why.

FIRST LOOK

Your first look, before our social rollout.

COMMISSION OPENINGS

Ever thought about designing your own watch?

Perhaps you know the dial you want, the size that feels right, or the occasion you want to mark. Bring that starting point. We’ll explore the design, compatible components and budget together.

Custom-Forged Timepieces start at $400. The $75 consultation is credited in full toward your watch purchase.

FROM THE BENCH

Two time zones. A chronograph. One readable dial.

Adding complications to a watch is easy. Making them useful—and easy to use—is the challenge. Project Forge 001 explores how a second time display and a pilot chronograph can work together in a watch designed around the person wearing it.

In our journal article, “Why We’re Building a Dual-Time Chronograph,” we explain the idea behind Project Forge 001 and how we’ll document its development.

COLLECTOR NOTES

Which would you put on your wrist?

Crown Explorer Quartz GMT – Black, 40mm tracks a second time zone with a Swiss quartz movement. Crown Harbor Automatic – Blue Dial 38mm offers Japanese automatic watchmaking in a smaller case.

Choose the watch you’d wear, then tell us what tipped the balance on the short response form.

Neither your style? Send us a note and tell us what you’d change.

We’ll share the survey results and what we learn from your feedback in next month’s THE COLLECTOR LIST.

Thank you for being part of THE COLLECTOR LIST—you’ll be first to see the watches and projects we share next.
